People Magazine scores Sandra Bullock adoption exclusive
Sandra Bullock has had an up-and-down month or two. She received the Best Actress Award at the Academy Awards and only days later began a very public divorce from husband Jesse James over James' infidelity.
Now Bullock appears on the cover of People Magazine, holding her newly adopted African American child.
You can't even make this stuff up.
Bullock calls the child "perfect" in the interview and claims to be happy as can be. Bullock said she will raise Louis, the 3 1/2-month old youngster, as a single parent. She also says in the interview she has filed for divorce from James.
It's going to take a lot of time and effort for Bullock to be a mother, though she'll no doubt have a nanny or two in her employ to take some of the burden. But I think this move is a commendable one. She doesn't strike me as someone to do such a thing for the publicity, and she's accomplished all she needs to accomplish in her career, having hit the pinnacle at the recent awards show.
So why not take some time to be a mom, if that's what she wants to do. She is giving a child a chance he likely otherwise would never have, to grow up with things most children can only dream of.
If that equation also includes her love and affection, it's a win-win for everyone.
I can see the other side of it, of course. It wouldn't be beyond a celebrity to make such a move to paint his or herself in a positive light opposite a cheating spouse. But Bullock doesn't strike me as that vindictive.
Call me crazy, but I'm willing to believe she's truly happy with the decision she's made.

Sandra Bullock's adoption of 3-and-a-half-month old Louis Bullock, and People Magazine's exclusive story about it have topped Internet searches as of this hour. In fact, at this point the terms "Sandra Bullock adoption" and "People Magazine" are ranked one and two on Google Trends.
It proves that if traditional media captures an exclusive story and properly writes and installs it and distributes it online it can gain that kind of search placement.
The bet here is that People Magazine didn't deliberately know that was going to happen. But the reason it did happen, in part was that People Magazine's authors used the words "People Magazine" right in the body of the text about the Sandra Bullock adoption.
The result was to cause the name "People Magazine" to be boosted with links to the article and repeat mentions of People Magazine.
